Sometimes it is obvious – the change will impact on them negatively, they don’t agree it is the right direction for the organisation, it is being handled really badly – you know these and many other reasons. This article from @HBR suggests another interesting idea – that there are competing commitments holding them back from the change. This means that they may be holding a deep seated idea of their place in the world and that this change will threaten or undermine that. Worth a thought next time someone is unexpectedly not responding as usual.
